Hernandez struck by line drive, leaves game
By Randy Jennings
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez was struck by a line drive on the right forearm and had to leave the game. He was diagnosed with a contusion.
Michael Young lined a pitch that hit Hernandez a couple of inches above the wrist on the forearm.
The training staff rushed to the field and Hernandez was escorted to the dugout.
He ended up going 3 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs -- five earned -- on 12 hits while striking out three and walking one.
Texas has a 7-2 lead and is still batting in the bottom of the fourth inning.
