By Richard Durrett

Mark Simon of ESPN Stats & Information sent over some quick notes on the Rangers vs. left-handed pitchers now that we know the Rangers will face LHP Matt Moore, a rookie with only one big league start (against the Yankees). BTW, Texas is 26-21 against left-handed starters this season, including 18-7 at home. Some stats against LHPs:

* The Rangers had the highest batting average in the majors against left-handed pitching at .282, and the second-highest slugging percentage at .459.

* Among players with at least 125 plate appearances, DH Michael Young had the highest batting average in the majors against left-handed pitching in 2011 -- .361.

* 3B Adrian Beltre had the second-highest slugging percentage at .685.

* C Mike Napoli had the seventh-highest slugging percentage, .619.

* The Rangers ranked 2nd in the AL in at-bats per home runs against left-handed pitching -- 25.34.
