New sheriff in town: Tanner Scheppers

Rangers rookie Robbie Ross will pass on the pink backpack and accessories to fellow rookie reliever Tanner Scheppers.
Cowboy Up!

Robbie Ross, please hand over the pink backpack, the badge, the western vest, the toy gun and the horse that you've been trotting out to the bullpen every night. There's a new sheriff in town: Tanner Scheppers.

With Derek Holland headed to the DL -- and Alexi Ogando from the bullpen to the rotation -- Scheppers was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday and is joining the Rangers in Oakland. The rookie relief pitcher will now inherit the cowboy get-up, according to catcher Mike Napoli via Twitter.

Ross had embraced the Rangers' rookie attire this season, even wearing the outfit during a cow milking contest against the Angels' Cole Calhoun on Dairy Night in Anaheim last Friday.
