Ryan Dempster: I'm just trying to fit in
Rangers righty Ryan Dempster dishes on his strong performance against the Orioles, making the transition to Texas and more.
On if there's a difference between pitching in the AL and NL:
"Actually I was joking around the other day, I said I couldn't wait to get out of the National League if you would have seen my numbers against the other team's starting pitcher. Reality is you are facing another hitting and when you take out a pitcher and you're putting in a David Ortiz or a Mark Teixeira you got guys who are threats ... but at the same time you got to go out there and you got to make pitches and you got to be smart enough to focus one through nine regardless of who's hitting and just try to bare down and do the best you can to make pitches and (I) did a lot better job of that last night and therefore you get better results."
On pitching for a first-place team:
"I think that's one of the toughest things you go through when you're on a ballclub that's struggling is you come to the ballpark hoping to win that day. When you're on a good team you come to the ballpark knowing you're going to win. That's a totally different feeling."
