Lineups: Josh Hamilton to miss series; Adrian Beltre out

By Taylor Soper / Special to

SEATTLE -- The Rangers are in Seattle to kick off a three-game set Friday with the Mariners and will be without Josh Hamilton and Thursday’s hero, Adrian Beltre.

Hamilton still has vision issues and is recovering from a sinus infection. He’ll miss the entire series. Beltre (intestinal issues) is arriving Friday night and is expected to play Saturday.

"They don’t pay attention to it," Washington said about his team's reaction to medical issues. "As long as we've got nine guys on the field, we are going to go out there and play together and try to win a ballgame together. We are not going to react to something we have no control over. We are going to put nine guys out there and compete.”

Ian Kinsler will man the DH spot while Jurickson Profar starts at second base.

Martin Perez will make his third start of the season and first since July 24. He tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings against Seattle in his last appearance Sept. 15. The Rangers have lost the last seven games in which he has appeared.
