Daniels: Profar could get time in OF


Jon Daniels visited with Fitzsimmons & Durrett on ESPN Dallas 103.3 on Friday afternoon and discussed the possibility of Jurickson Profar remaining with the Rangers even when Ian Kinsler returns from the disabled list.

General manager Jon Daniels joins Fitzsimmons & Durrett to discuss the Rangers' offensive struggles, injuries and the plan for Jurickson Profar once Ian Kinsler returns from the disabled list.

"If Wash (manager Ron Washington) can find ways to mix him in and, both for his sake, but maybe more importantly to rest other guys -- both guys that are banged up a little bit and also guys that are slumping a little bit -- then I think it makes sense to keep him," Daniels said. "If we're not going to use him that way, then we'll send him down."

Daniels also brought up the possibility of a position change.

"I don't know if we'd make him a full-time outfielder, but there are plenty of guys that break in at different positions to get their bats in the lineup," Daniels said. "That's something that's been talked about and something we may do."
