The Texas Rangers go for four straight wins when left-hander Martin Perez faces St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Shelby Miller at 6:15 p.m Saturday night on FOX Ch. 4 and ESPN-FM 103.3 and 1540-AM.

Perez (0-1, 5.06): The 22-year old Perez is back in the major leagues after dominating for Triple-A Round Rock. ... He was 4-0 with a 1.13 ERA in four starts since making a start for the Rangers on May 25 in a doubleheader against Arizona. ... Perez allowed three runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks. ... Perez is ranked as the top pitching prospect in the Rangers' organization. ... To create space for Perez, LHP Joseph Ortiz was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock, according to the Rangers. Ortiz made one appearance in his second stint with Texas, walking the only batter he faced.

Miller (8-4, 2.08): The 22-year old sensation from Houston is fifth in the major leagues in ERA. ... He has 96 strikeouts. ... Miller left his last start with a cramp in his leg after five innings against the Chicago Cubs. ... He didn't allow any runs and had five strikeouts. ... Miller is 3-1 in June with six earned runs allowed and 31 strikeouts in 24 innings.
