Cruz's All-Star year cruised along on the same day Milwaukee outfielder Ryan Braun's came to a halt with a season-ending suspension for "violations of the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program," according to a statement released by MLB.
Cruz's name has been linked to the same Miami-based Biogenesis clinic that Braun refused to answer questions about in a meeting with MLB on June 29.
ESPN "Outside the Lines" reporter T.J. Quinn reported on Monday that MLB's plan remains for the rest of the suspensions stemming from the investigation -- including that of the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez -- to be announced all at once.
Cruz didn't have much to say about Braun's suspension after Monday night's game.
"I guess it is what it is," Cruz said. "I don't have any comment."
Cruz, who leads the Rangers in home runs and RBIs (70), was asked if anything that happened Monday has changed the way he views his situation with Braun's suspension.
"I'm playing the same way," Cruz said. "We're playing to win. We're in the race, so I come to the ballpark thinking about winning. So that's my goal."
