The Oakland Athletics received infielder Adam Rosales on a waiver claim from the Texas Rangers, the clubs announced Thursday. Rosales had been designated for assignment Monday by the Rangers.

Rosales spent only three days in the Rangers organization and was on the active 25-man roster last Friday through Sunday but did not appear in a game. He had been received on a waiver claim from the A's on Friday. Rosales has hit .193 with five doubles, four home runs and eight RBIs in 50 games for the A's this season.

The Rangers have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
