ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers right-hander Alexi Ogando allowed three runs in two innings in his first rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday night.

Ogando threw 41 pitches, allowing four hits, including a two-run home run. He will make his next rehab start on July 11 for Round Rock at Omaha.

Ogando is returning from his second stint on the 15-day disabled list, this time for right shoulder inflammation.

He is 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA for 10 starts this season.

Altered approach helps get players to U.S.

It appears the long wait -- five years, in fact -- is over for Rangers pitching prospects Omar Beltre and Alexei Ogando. The two have been banned from entering the United States for their part in a human trafficking ring, but the Rangers were told to expect the two to get waivers to enter the U.S.

You can read about the story here.

What helped was the players' new agent, Charisse Espinosa, working with them to take a goodwill approach. The players spoke at various events about the dangers of human trafficking and also did public service announcements. They've talked about opening a women's shelter at some point too. Give credit to Thad Levine, who worked very hard to make this happen as well.
