Phoenix, Arizona -- Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington, who helped establish the Arizona Fall League in its first two seasons, will be inducted into the Arizona Fall League Hall of Fame on Friday in pre-game ceremonies at Surprise Stadium.

“Ron has become one of the most respected managers in baseball,” said Fall League director Steve Cobb, “and we’re indebted to him for playing a role in the crucial early years of the Fall League.”

Washington, a two-time Arizona Fall League hitting coach (1992 Sun Cities Solar Sox, 1993 Tucson Javelinas), guided Texas to back-to-back American League pennants and World Series appearances in 2010–11. From 2008-11, he became the first manager in Rangers’ history to increase his team’s win total in four consecutive seasons.

In six seasons at the Texas helm, Washington boasts a 520-452 record that is to the highest managerial winning percentage (.794) in Rangers’ history (minimum of two full seasons). He also remains the only manager in Rangers franchise history to win a postseason series. His postseason record is 18-16.
