Rangers break trend in seventh round
Round 5 (174 overall): Brandon Woodruff, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-handed pitcher out of Wheeler High School in Mississippi.
Round 6 (204 overall): Derek Fisher, a 6-foot-1 outfielder from Cedar Crest High School in Pennsylvania. He was named the 2011 Gatorade Pennsylvania Baseball Player of the Year.
Round 7 (234 overall): Max Pentecost, a 6-foot-2, 191-pound catcher out of Winder Barrow High School in Georgia. He suffered an elbow injury in April that required Tommy John surgery.
Round 8 (264 overall): Kyle Hendricks, a 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed pitcher from Dartmouth. He had a 5-3 record with a 2.47 ERA in nine appearances.
Round 9 (294 overall): Rashad Harlin, a 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder from Helix High School out of California.
Round 10 (324 overall): Joe Maloney, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound catcher from Limestone College in South Carolina. He earned the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year award with a .308 batting average, 16 home runs and 61 RBIs.
Round 11 (354 overall): Connor Sadzeck, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed pitcher from Howard College. In 15 games, Sadzeck had a 7-3 record with a 3.56 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
Round 12 (384 overall): Gregory Williams, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed pitcher out of Marshall. Williams had a 5.82 ERA in 11 appearances
Round 13 (414 overall): Christopher Grayson, a 6-foot, 190-pound outfielder from Lee University in Tennessee.
Round 14 (444 overall): Andrew Faulkner, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound left-handed pitcher from South Aiken High School in South Carolina.
Round 15 (474 overall): Jerad Eickhoff, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher from Olney Central College in Illinois. Erickhoff went 10-4 with a 2.44 ERA in 16 games.
