Texas Rangers: Round Rock

Texas Rangers starter Neftali Feliz made his second rehab start Friday, this time with Triple-A Round Rock.

He lasted 1 2/3 innings and gave up four runs (one earned) on three hits with two walks and a strikeout. The outing included a balk and a wild pitch -- both in the first inning.

Feliz threw 47 pitches. He'll try to build on that -- and increase his innings count -- in his next rehab start, likely the middle of next week.

New Texas Rangers pitcher Roy Oswalt said he's thrown bullpen sessions every other day for the last six weeks and believes he can be ready to join the big league rotation after about four starts.

Oswalt's first start at Triple-A Round Rock, a place he knows well from his days in the Houston Astros minor league system, is slated for Saturday.

"My arm feels great, my body feels great," said Oswalt during a conference call with reporters Wednesday afternoon. "I think we'll go out and try to have a 50- or 60-pitch count that first game and I'm hoping after about four starts to be ready to join the team."
