Yhency Brazoban signed to minor league deal

The Texas Rangers signed 30-year-old relief pitcher Yhency Brazoban to a minor league contract. The right-hander had 21 career saves over five seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, going 10-12 with a 4.70 ERA in 116 appearances.

Brazoban finished the season with Triple-A Buffalo of the New York Mets' system after beginning the year in the Mexican League, where he was 4-3 with a 2.22 ERA in 52 relief appearances for Minatitlan and Mexico City.

Also, the Rangers signed outfielder Hirotoshi Onaka to a minor-league deal. He batted .327 with five homers and 36 RBIs during his four years at International Pacific University, a private school in Higashi-ku, Okayama, Japan.
