Dallas Stars prospect Matt Fraser scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist as the Kootenay Ice advanced to the semifinal game at the Memorial Cup with a 7-3 win over Owen Sound Thursday night.

The Ice will play Mississauga Friday night. The winner of that game will take on the Saint John Sea Dogs for the Memorial Cup championship on Sunday.

The Ice trailed 2-0 after one period, but scored two goals 13 seconds apart in the second to tie and Fraser put them ahead 3-2 with a power play goal at 11:19 of the second when he roofed a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle.

Fraser made it a 4-2 game early in the third period when he banged home a rebound with Kootenay on the power play. He then picked up on an assist on a shorthanded goal to give the Ice a 6-2 lead.

Fraser now has four goals at the Memorial Cup, which is tied for the tournament lead. His five points are tied for third.
