Senators take early 1-0 lead

The Stars took a quick penalty on a trip by Mark Fistric, and Ottawa immediately turned that into a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Jason Spezza. It was the first shot of the game and came at the 18:54 mark.

Spezza flicked a wrist shot from the left point, and Kari Lehtonen never saw it because of a good screen by Mike Fisher.

Not a good start for the Stars, but there has been no more damage. We're now halfway through the first and the Stars are about to go on their first power play after a Mike Ribeiro breakaway attempt was knocked away.

The Stars are really struggling to move the puck out of their end so far today. Ottawa is putting a lot of pressure on the puck carriers.

Quick note: The scratches were Modano, Brunnstrom and Woywitka. Niskanen is in the lineup.
