The Coyotes score back-to-back goals in the shootout to escape with a 3-2 win. Their win streak is extended to nine games, while the Stars finish 2-2-2 on their six-game homestand.
The Stars' Brad Richards scored the first goal of the shootout, but Radim Vrbata kept the Coyotes alive when he scored as the team's third shooter. After a Steve Ott miss, Adrian Aucoin finished it by beating Turco high glove side.
Some teams just seem to have the knack for winning in overtime and the shootout. The Stars were one of those teams a couple of years ago, but they've lost that winning formula.
