About the Stars

The Stars (7-2-0) wrapped up a four-game road trip with a 3-2 shootout win at Phoenix Tuesday night. The Stars tied the game with 1:01 left in regulation on a goal by Adam Burish and then got shootout goals from Michael Ryder and Trevor Daley in an eight-round shootout. The Stars went 3-1-0 on the trip.

“Going into it, we said we want to put back-to-back games together and I think, for the most part, we put three pretty good games together,” Burish said. “To get points the way we did, it’s good, it’s a confident group right now.”

Thursday’s game opens up a three-game homestand for the Stars, who are 4-0-0 at American Airlines Center so far this season.

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for Dallas Thursday.

Injuries: None

About the Kings

The Kings (5-2-1) had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 3-0 loss to New Jersey at Staples Center Tuesday night. With backup Jonathan Bernier in net the Kings had a franchise record shutout streak end at 221 minutes, 22 second when New Jersey’s Dainius Zubrus scored at 13:12 of the second period.

“The game, tonight, is about turnovers. All three goals that New Jersey scores end up being plays that we have possession of the puck and we just don’t execute and they come right back at us and end up scoring,” said Kings coach Terry Murray. “The bottom line is, the best players on New Jersey — you look at the score sheet — they’re the guys that determine the outcome of the game. We need to be better. Our best players have got to be better players in order to win games in this league. We just were not on top of it.”

Thursday’s game opens a three-game road trip for the Kings.

Jonathan Quick, who has shutouts in his last three starts, will start in goal for the Kings Thursday.

Injuries: D Drew Doughty (shoulder) is questionable.
