About the Stars

The Stars (11-4-0) had their-four game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss at Pittsburgh Friday night. The Stars are 2-1-0 on their current road trip, which wraps up Saturday in Detroit.

“Tonight we got outworked and I don’t want to see that happen tomorrow night,” Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said after Friday’s loss to the Penguins. “Going into Detroit we want to make sure we are ready and playing our game. The results are going to take care of themselves. We can’t get outworked two nights in a row.”

Andrew Raycroft will start in goal for the Stars.

Injuries: D Alex Goligoski (hand) and LW Steve Ott (hip pointer) are out.

About the Red Wings

The Red Wings (8-5-1) won their third straight game, beating Edmonton 3-0 at Joe Louis Arena Friday night. The Red Wings became the first team to score more than two goals against Edmonton goalie Nikolai Khabibulin this season.

“With Khabibulin playing the way he is, you’ve got to get to the net,” Detroit coach Mike Babcock said.

Jimmy Howard stopped 24 shots for his third shutout of the season.

Injuries: F Todd Bertuzzi (sinus infection) is out.
