About the Stars

The Stars (13-8-1) lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday at American Airlines Center. The Stars overcame 2-1 and 3-2 deficits to force the overtime and get a point out of the game.

“We worked hard,” said Stars forward Radek Dvorak, who scored the game-tying goal for Dallas. “It’s too bad we came up with just one point, but it shows that we can play the whole 60 minutes.”

The Stars, who went 2-1-1 on their four-game homestand, play their next two games on the road.

Injuries: LW Brenden Morrow (upper body), D Alex Goligoski (broken thumb) and RW Adam Burish (broken hand) are out.

About the Coyotes

The Coyotes (11-7-3) lost 5-0 to Vancouver Friday night in Glendale, Arizona. The Canucks scored three goals in a 2:12 span to take control of the game on the scoreboard in the second period.

“Our execution was so down below par that it wasn’t even a game,” Phoenix coach Dave Tippett. “We kept turning it over and they kept taking the chances. We didn’t start very good, we didn’t have a good middle and we didn’t end very well. That sums it up right there.”

The Coyotes are 1-1-0 on their current homestand, which wraps up Saturday versus Dallas.

Injuries: F Daymond Langkow (personal) and D Michal Rozsival (face/head) are out.
