About the Stars

The Stars (15-10-1) last played Saturday, losing 5-4 to the New York Islanders at American Airlines Center. The Stars overcame a 3-0 deficit in the game, but Matt Moulson’s fourth goal of the game late in the second period held up as the game-winner for New York.

“I think there are good things and bad things we can take out of this,” said Stars forward Jake Dowell. “Obviously, we’re great at coming back and we have a lot of character in the locker room and we never quit, but sometimes I feel like we’re trying to see how many goals we can come back from and I don’t think that’s good.”

Andrew Raycroft is expected to start in goal Thursday.

Injuries: D Alex Goligoski (broken thumb), D Trevor Daley (back) and LW Brenden Morrow (back) are probable. D Mark Fistric (suspension), RW Adam Burish (broken hand) and G Kari Lehtonen (groin) are out.

About the Sharks

The Sharks (14-9-1) fell 2-1 to Minnesota Tuesday in San Jose, despite outshooting the Wild 42-21 in the game.

“There were a lot of missed opportunities,” Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle said. “We had a ton of chances but our execution ... that's a word we're going to hear a lot ... we're just not putting the puck in the net right now.”

The Sharks are 1-4-0 over their last five games and the only victory came in a shootout.

Injuries: D Douglas Murray (hand) and D Jim Vandermeer (upper body) are questionable. G Antero Niittymaki (hip) is out.
