DALLAS -- The Stars got a power play less than 20 seconds into the game, but were not able to score. They got a few chances, but Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard was able to turn them away.

The Stars came in talking about playing a tight defensive game and making sure to limit the Detroit scoring chances. As coach Glen Gulutzan put it: Play the same way they did in a 4-2 win over Boston on Saturday.

Both teams seem to have good energy early. And though AAC appears a little more than half-full, the crowd is into it (and there's a fair number of red jerseys in the crowd, too).

Kari Lehtonen has also already made a terrific save. With just under 15 minutes left in the first, Jiri Hudler was left alone in front of the net and Lehtonen got his glove up to make the save.
