DALLAS -- If not for Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen, the Red Wings might have an even larger lead than the 3-1 advatange they enjoy after one period.

Detroit has outskated the Stars so far, creating scoring chances with some precision passes and quick skating. Jiri Hudler has two goals and Henrik Zetterberg has three assists for the Wings.

Less than a minute after falling behind, 2-0, Stars forward Loui Eriksson created his own opportunity, missing off the side of the net, but grabbing the puck again and skating in front, where he ripped one past goalie Jimmy Howard.

But with less than a minute left in the period, the Wings scored to re-take the two-goal advantage.

Detroit has 15 shots on goal to the Stars' 14.
