DALLAS – Dallas Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said forward Jamie Benn, who underwent an appendectomy on Sunday, has a good chance to play in the NHL All-Star Game, which is January 29 in Ottawa.

Gulutzan also said there is a chance Benn could play in the Stars’ final game before the All-Star break, which is Tuesday versus Anaheim.

“Benny, seven days from that surgery, for sure 100 percent is not playing,” Gulutzan said after Tuesday’s 3-2 shootout loss to Detroit. “I don’t know if you can rule out Benny Tuesday for Anaheim, but for sure you won’t see him over the weekend.”

Gulutzan said defenseman Philip Larsen, who has missed eight games due to a concussion, could return to the lineup for Friday’s game against Tampa Bay.

Mike Ribeiro, who has missed the last five games with a knee injury, still has a targeted return of after the break.
