FRISCO -- Stars forward Jamie Benn, who has missed the last four games following an appendectomy, skated prior to today's practice in Frisco. He won't be ready to play Tuesday, but he should be ready to play in Sunday's NHL All-Star game in Ottawa.
"He'll be going for sure," said Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk. "There was a little glimmer of hope that he might play tomorrow, but he's not quite ready. He should be fine to go to the All-Star game."
Nieuwendyk also said that any contract talks with Benn, who is in the third and final year of his entry-level deal, probably will wait until after the season.
'We've had discussions, but there won't be any more discussions, I don't think," Nieuwendyk said. "His situation is different than (Alex Goligoski's). He's still in entry-level and doesn't have the rights that maybe Alex has. We'll have further discussions with him at the end of the season."
