Here are some postgame quotes following the Dallas Stars’ 4-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night.

Stars coach Glen Gulutzan

“We were more consistent. We turned the puck over a little too much. There were a couple things we learned about ourselves in the second period and the way we need to play, but our third period we came out pretty strong and held the lead pretty good.”

“When you’re in the situation we’ve been in, where you haven’t scored too many lately, to score two right away is a good confidence boost for the group.”

“I liked the lines. I thought Tomas Vincour played better. I thought (Vernon) Fiddler’s line had a good bounce back and played their regular game. I didn’t mind the way things worked out tonight.”

Stars forward Jamie Benn

“We battled a lot harder. We won some battles. There are still things we can clean up. Our second period wasn’t very good. We know that. It was because of bad penalties and turnovers that they got their chances. We need to clean that up.”

“It was a big start tonight. Those two goals were huge. Getting some momentum on the road for our team is big. We definitely want that in the first period.”

Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski

“There’s going to be no easy games. We know that. I think our work ethic was a lot better tonight and that is always good to see.”

Blue Jackets interim head coach Todd Richards

“I like the way we battled back. I like the way we fought all the way to the end. The problem was we weren’t ready at the start. We dug ourselves a hole, 2-0, and we just couldn’t overcome that deficit. But we fought all the way to the end. I think it would have been an easy situation to be down 3-0 and close up shop for the night, but I liked the way we stuck with it and continued to battle.”
