About the Stars

The Stars (29-25-4) lost 2-1 in overtime at Phoenix Saturday. A turnover behind the Dallas net led to Radim Vrbata’s game-winning goal 1:15 into the extra period.

“We played hard, but we need results,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “We need to capitalize and we can’t make a mistake at the end to give away a point.”

With the point they picked up in the game, the Stars moved to within three points of eighth place in the Western Conference.

The Stars fell to 1-2-2 over their last five games.

Injuries: C Jamie Benn (leg), D Sheldon Souray (foot) and LW Brenden Morrow (neck/shoulder) are out.

About the Predators

The Predators (33-19-6) are coming off a 2-1 loss at Detroit on Friday as the Red Wings won their 22nd straight game at home. Henrik Zetterberg set up Pavel Datsyuk for the game-winning goal with five seconds remaining in regulation.

“We should’ve had a point tonight,” Predators coach Barry Trotz said. “We’re 5 seconds away from getting a point. But great players make great plays.”

The Predators are 1-2-2 in their last five games.

On Friday, the Predators acquired defenseman Hal Gill and a conditional 2013 fifth-round pick from Montreal in exchange for forward Blake Geoffrion, minor league forward Robert Slaney and a 2012 second-round pick in 2012.

Gill is expected to make his Predators debut Sunday night against the Stars.

Injuries: F Patric Hornqvist (upper body) and F Brian McGrattan (upper body) are out.
