The Dallas Stars have assigned goaltender Jack Campbell, the team’s first round pick in 2010, to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.
Campbell, the 11th overall pick in 2010, wrapped up his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League this past weekend. Campbell, sho signed a three-year entry-level deal with Dallas in November 2010, was 45-29-11 in two OHL seasons, playing for both Windsor and Sault Ste. Marie. The 20-year-old Michigan native posted a 3.62 goals against average and .890 save percentage.
Campbell’s amateur career also included international play for Team USA. He helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2010 World Junior Championship and was named the Best Goalkeeper at the 2011 tournament in helping the U.S. win the bronze medal.
