The Stars announced Tuesday that they extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Fabian Brunnstrom, Maxime Fortunus, Aaron Gagnon, Nicklas Grossman, Perttu Lindgren, Trevor Ludwig, James Neal, Matt Niskanen and Raymond Sawada.
The Stars also signed goaltender Brent Krahn to a one-year, two-way contract extension. Krahn, who will compete for the backup job behind Kari Lehtonen, helped the Texas Stars reach the AHL Calder Cup Finals.
Teams are required to make one-year qualifying offers to restricted free agents by June 28 to receive the right of first refusal or draft choice compensation if the player signs an offer sheet with another NHL club. Qualifying offers expire July 15.
Tyler Shelast did not receive a qualifying offer and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
