FRISCO -- For whatever reason, something happens when the Stars leave the friendly confines of Frisco and Dallas and head off on the road. When they aren't sleeping in their own beds and practicing at their arena, things just don't seem to click the same way.

Playoff teams have to win on the road. And the Stars just aren't doing that right now. They are 1-9-3 in their last 13 games away from American Airlines Center, including three straight losses on their last trip.

They begin another three-game set tonight in Vancouver, heading also to Edmonton and Colorado. If they have designs on reaching the postseason, they need to start putting some streaks together. You can't do that without winning on the road.

"It's consistency and it's been a problem all year," winger James Neal said. "Any good team is a real consistent team. We are going to start off with the first game and play strong and hopefully carry that through the whole road trip."

Several players said they hope that the fact that they've put together a couple of wins at home can give them some momentum heading into this trip.

"I thought the Philadelphia game was a bad game for us and a wake-up call," defenseman Stephane Robidas said. "I thought we played much better in Montreal. We started making some strides. We stuck with the system against Detroit and came back and won and last game we played really good for 40 minutes, let them come back for six minutes, but played well at the end and got the win. There's room for improvement, but we have to keep playing the way we have the last few games and take that on the road."
