Marc Crawford isn't into excuses, but he did offer an explanation for his team's loss in Colorado to end a three-game road trip.

"We come back from Vancouver, we get in at 2 a.m., we muster up a pretty good effort in Edmonton and we go through all the customs stuff and get in at 4 a.m. to Colorado," Crawford said. "You do that and you’ve got a tired hockey club and it shows the second night. We played really good the first 12 minutes, but the circumstance are we get scored on the power play and the shorthanded goal and our energy is aleady low.

"It’s not excuse, but that’s the explanation. People can draw their own conclusions and we don’t want to be a team that looks for excuses. But we are playing better right now. The result wasn't very good and we've moved forward from it."

Crawford is doing what he can to stay positive and encourage his team. He strongly believes they are capable of making the playoffs and has seen signs from his team the last week or two that give him hope they can put a run together.

The Stars should have more energy with a few days in between games. They next play on Wednesday against Calgary at American Airlines Center, the first of four straight games at home.
