The Stars on national TV

The NHL released its national broadcast schedule for the season today. The Stars have three games scheduled to be broadcast nationally on Versus and two more games that are under consideration for NBC’s Game of the Week.

The three games scheduled to be on Versus are:
  • November 29, at Carolina
  • January 17, vs. Los Angeles
  • February 22, vs. New Jersey

The two Dallas under consideration for NBC’s Game of the Week are:
  • March 13, vs. Los Angeles
    The other option for NBC on this day is Chicago at Washington
  • April 10, at Minnesota
    Other games on the list are Detroit at Chicago, Boston at New Jersey and Pittsburgh at Atlanta

As for the Stars on national television in Canada, it breaks down like this:
  • November 3, vs. Pittsburgh (RIS)
  • November 11, at Los Angeles (NHL Network Canada)
  • November 24, at Ottawa (TSN2)
  • November 29, at Carolina (TSN2)
  • December 21, vs. Montreal (RDS)
  • January 17, vs. Los Angeles (TSN2)
  • January 26, vs. Edmonton (TSN)
  • February 5, at Philadelphia (RDS)
  • February 16, at Calgary (TSN)
  • February 19, at Vancouver (CBC)
  • February 22, vs. New Jersey (TSN2)
  • April 10, at Minnesota (NHL Network Canada)

The local TV schedule for the Stars should be released any day now.

Stars hire new studio host for radio coverage

The Stars announced today that Matt McClearin has been named as the studio host of the team’s radio broadcast on The Ticket. McClearin will host the pregame show, intermission reports and road postgame shows.

McClearin, who currently works at The Ticket, has been in radio for ten years and has hosted talk shows in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas.
