Here are some notes from this morning's skate at the American Airlines Center. The Stars take on the St. Louis Blues tonight at the AAC.

Brent Krahn will get the start tonight in goal and is expected to play the entire game. It's a big start for Krahn, who is battling Andrew Raycroft for the backup job.

"I'm excited. I just want to go out there and let the puck come to me," said Krahn. "It's one more step to gain the confidence of my teammates and the coaches."

Krahn and Raycroft both are scheduled to get one start in the preseason. Krahn said he isn't feeling any extra pressure knowing this performance could be key in who win the backup job.

"No, there's pressure always," Krahn said. "If I look at it like that I might pucker up a little bit. To be honest, it's an opportunity and every day you have to prove yourself. I'm just excited to be out there and playing with these guys. To be trying to earn a job in the NHL, there's no better position I'd like to be in right now. I'm just really excited."

Burish gets a look with Morrow & Ribeiro

Adam Burish will get a look at right wing on a line with Brenden Morrow and Mike Ribeiro. It's a good opportunity for Burish as the Stars are looking for someone to play on the right side of that line.

"It will be fun. I've played against those guys a lot and just seeing them in practice they have a neat chemistry in the way they know where each other are going to be," said Burish. "Ribeiro's such a good playmaker, handles the puck so well and can control the game. Morrow is able to make those small plays to create some space for him and when he gets his chances he doesn't miss many. It will be fun to try to chip in."

Injury notes

Loui Eriksson, who missed last night's game with a hip flexor, skated with the team this morning and is ready to play but the Stars will give him a few extra days before putting him into a game.

"If it was an important game for us then he could go. But we want to be safe with Loui here tonight," said Stars coach Marc Crawford. "He'll get two more practices to get himself more prepared and we'll put him in the lineup on Tuesday."

Tom Wandell (shoulder) is skating but is not in contact drills.

Ray Sawada (knee) skated with the team today, is in contact drills and is close to a return.
