Karlis Skrastins ready to return

Here are a few notes from Thursday's practice, which was held at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Farmers Branch.

Defenseman Karlis Skrastins, who has missed the last three games after a collision with teammate Matt Niskanen last week during warm ups in Chicago, is ready to return to action.

"Skrastins is full go,"said Stars coach Marc Crawford. "Ready to play and in the lineup on Saturday."

Niskanen is still out with a cut on his hand, which needs to heal.

Stephane Robidas did not practice today.

"Maintentance for his foot right now," said Crawford. "He will probably practice tomorrow. There is no problem with him playing. We're utilizing the days off to allow him to continue to get a little bit better."

Brian Sutherby was off the ice today as well. It was a maintenance day for a hip issue. He's expected to practice tomorrow.

Toby Petersen, who is on injured reserve with a foot injury, is skating on his own but still not close.

With Skrastins set to return, Philip Larsen was sent back to the Texas Stars of the AHL.
