About the Stars

The Stars had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 overtime loss in Anaheim. The Stars blew a 3-1 lead in the third period and then lost the game when the Ducks scored on the power play with 3.8 seconds left in OT.

“If you want to look at it in a positive way, we got a point on the road,” said Stars forward Adam Burish. “You can look at it that way. Out of four points so far on this road trip, we’ve gotten three of them, but when you’re up 3-1, especially this time of year, you’ve got to fight, you’ve got to claw and make sure you don’t give up the lead like that and you make sure you get the two points when you can.”

With the point picked up in the game, the Stars moved into eighth place in the Western Conference.

Injuries: Brad Richards (concussion-like symptoms) and D Nicklas Grossman (hip) are day-to-day.

About Sharks

The Sharks ran their winning streak to eight games with a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night. Dany Heatley scored two goals for San Jose, which has a six point lead in the Pacific Division.

“We’ve put ourselves in a good spot right now, but we’ve got a lot of games left,” Heatley said. “We’ve got to forget about this one and get ready for Saturday night.”

The victory was the seventh straight at home for the Sharks.

Injuries: D Dan Boyle (upper body) is questionable. G Antero Niittymaki (groin), C Scott Nichol (upper body) and D Kent Huskins (upper body) are out.
