About the Stars
The Stars’ winless streak hit five games (0-2-3) with a 6-0 loss in San Jose.
“It was a bit of a mess, but we still live to fight another day. We play in a couple of days and these are the big ones, Los Angeles and Anaheim. We’re running out of games. We’ve been saying we’ve got games, we’ve got points but we’re running out of them. It’s starting to be do or die.”
The Stars enter Saturday’s game five points out of the final playoff spot with one game in hand one eighth place Chicago.
Kari Lehtonen is expected to start in goal for the Stars.
About the Kings
The Kings had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss at Vancouver. The Kings took a 1-0 lead, but the Canucks scored the final three goals of the game and held the Kings without a shot in the third period.
“I thought we were too tentative from the start. We had a one-goal lead, and we just didn’t go after it,” said Kings captain Dustin Brown. “We kind of sat back, and when you have a team like that [Vancouver], they’re going to shove it down your throat if you’re going to sit back and not attack. We didn’t get enough attacks from the start of the game, I thought, not just the third period.”
Jonathan Quick is expected to get the start in goal for Los Angeles.
