DALLAS -- The Blues just scored two goals 17 seconds apart to take a 3-1 lead. The building was energized after the Stars tied it and now it's pretty quiet.
Brad Boyes scored on a shot from the circle after Mark Fistric's stick broke. Fistric took Brenden Morrow's stick, but couldn't do much about the hard shot and Turco couldn't stop it.
Then, 17 seconds later, Paul Kariya got his second goal of the night racing down the left side and sending one that Turco got a piece of, but it went over his head and into the net.
The first period is over and the Blues have a two-goal lead.
