The Dallas Stars were 17th in ESPN's final NHL Power Rankings. That seems appropriate since the Stars just missed being one of the 16 teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Scott Burnside put together the final rankings and said this about the Stars:
Couldn't close the deal against a bad Minnesota team in Game 82. That one will stick with the Stars for a long time. What now for Brad Richards?

Not a shocker that Vancouver topped the final rankings. The Canucks were followed by San Jose, Washington, Pittsburgh and Detroit. The complete final rankings are here.
