PEORIA, Ariz. -- It was a wild and long day at spring training on Wednesday, obviously. As a way to give you some one-stop shopping, here are six things of note from today.

1. Ron Washington admitted his drug use, apologized and asked for forgiveness. Washington was clearly emotional, first with the players and then at various times during the day. The Rangers decided to stick by him last year and his players were sticking by him today. Jim Reeves has his take on Washington here.

2. Nolan Ryan chatted with fans here on ESPNDallas.com (more on that in a post on Thursday). But he addressed the Washington situation and a bunch of other things going on with the team. Check it out here. He also talked with Galloway & Company on 103.3 ESPN on Wednesday.

3. OF Josh Hamilton returned to the lineup after having dental surgery. His swollen face looked much better on Wednesday and he said his hand, which was hit by a pitch on Monday, was fine. He had a towering home run in the Rangers' game against Seattle on Wednesday.

4. 2B Ian Kinsler is still at least a week away from returning to games. But he isn't just hanging out in the clubhouse. The second baseman is doing some light jogging (more like fast walking), lifting weights and throwing. The thing he can't do is swing. He said he feels better each day, but wants to make sure he's completely healthy when he returns. He also said he's confident he'll be back for opening day and that he'll get enough preparation in before then. He wants a few games to get his legs under him, but other than that, says he doesn't need a ton of game action.

5. Nelson Cruz and Chris Davis continue to have hot springs. Cruz is batting .448 and was 3-for-3 on Wednesday. His two-strike approach was the reason why.

6. RHP Scott Feldman allowed one run in four innings. He started his outing with eight straight balls, but settled down. He pitched into some jams, but got out of them. He worked on his off-speed stuff and was pleased with his outing.
