A few notes from around the boxing world:

  • Roc Nation Sports announced it has signed 6-foot-4 Philadelphia heavyweight Darmani Rock, whose professional debut will come on a date to be announced. Rock was a standout amateur, winning a 2015 National Golden Gloves title and 2015 U.S. National Amateur super heavyweight title. “He has the talent to become a force in a reinvigorated heavyweight division and for a 19-year-old heavyweight with his skill set, the sky is the limit,” said David Itskowitch, COO of Boxing Roc Nation Sports.

  • Light heavyweight Seanie Monaghan, who hopes to land an eventual shot against titlist Jurgen Braehmer, has an opponent place for his Feb. 27 appearance on the undercard of junior welterweight titlist Terence Crawford’s defense against Hanky Lundy at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Monaghan (26-0, 16 KOs), 34, of Long Beach, New York, will face Janne Forsman (21-3, 13 KOs), 33, of Finland, Top Rank matchmaker Brad “Abdul” Goodman told ESPN.com. Forsman is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Avni Yildirim on Dec. 18.

  • Lightweight Casey Ramos (21-0, 5 KOs), 26, of Austin, Texas, will face Jonathan Perez (35-13, 28 KOs), 29, of Colombia, in the main event of Top Rank’s “Solo Boxeo Tecate” card on March 12 in Burbank, California. Perez has won his past two fights to shake off a four-fight losing skid.
