When super middleweight champ Andre Ward defends his belts against light heavyweight champ Chad Dawson -- who is moving down in weight -- it will be a meeting of two of boxing's best fighters. They're both pound-for-pound talents and in their primes.

As such, HBO, which will televise the fight as part of a split-site tripleheader, is treating it like its biggest non-pay-per-view bout of the year.

That's why HBO is, for the first time, using its "24/7" brand for a non-PPV bout in a "24/7 Road to Ward/Dawson" special. The half-hour documentary-style show previewing the bout premiers Aug. 25 at midnight ET/PT (with numerous replays leading up to the fight). The special aims to offer viewers an inside look at the preparations of Ward (25-0, 13 KOs) and Dawson (31-1, 17 KOs), who is from New Haven, Conn., and will be facing Ward at Oracle Arena in his hometown of Oakland, Calif.

Also on the telecast, Antonio DeMarco (27-2-1, 20 KOs) will defend his lightweight belt against mandatory challenger John Molina Jr. (24-1, 19 KOs) on the Oakland undercard and Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KOs) will defend his heavyweight title against Manuel Charr (21-0, 11 KOs) in a fight that HBO will show on a few hours' tape delay from Moscow.
