Undefeated featherweight prospects Julian Ramirez (16-0, 8 KOs) and Abraham Lopez (20-0-1, 15 KOs) are both excited to get a chance to step up in competition against each other and to do so on HBO when they meet June 4 (10:30 p.m. ET/PT) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, on the undercard of junior lightweight titleholder Francisco Vargas’ much-anticipated battle against former titleholder Orlando Salido.

Ramirez-Lopez is a significant fight for both young men, who will be fighting at home in Southern California.

"I'm happy that I get the opportunity to fight on HBO for the first time," said Ramirez, the great nephew of late junior lightweight champion Genaro Hernandez. “I am very happy to be fighting back at my home away from home, the StubHub Center in Carson. I know it's going to be a great night of boxing."

Said Lopez, "I am thrilled to be the co-main event for Vargas versus Salido on June 4. This is the day that I will make major noise in the featherweight division and doing that on HBO is a great honor. I want to thank my team and Golden Boy Promotions for this opportunity, and I promise all my fans a victorious night full of action."

Both fighters have come up on Golden Boy’s monthly “LA Fight Club” series and are making the jump to HBO in a fight that will go a long way to determining whether they will move closer to a world title opportunity.

"Certain fights determine the path of a fighter's future, and this is one of them," Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya said. “Whoever wins is well on his way to fighting for a world championship. Whoever loses has to go back to the drawing board. With everything at stake, Julian and Abraham are going to put on an incredible show for fight fans."
