Ponce De Leon (44-5, 35 KOs) will fight in his native Mexico on Nov. 16, manager Frank Espinoza told ESPN.com. Ponce De Leon, who is moving up to junior lightweight, will take on countryman Joksan Hernandez (23-5-1, 15 KOs) in a 10-round bout, which will air on Fox Deportes in the United States (Televisa in Mexico).

"The fight is made and we're ready to go," Espinoza said. "This is a fight to get back on track after the Abner fight. Ponce is looking to enter the 130-pound division and after this fight, we're looking forward to fighting any of the 130-pound champions. We want to get this fight out of the way and go directly to a world title fight.

"Ponce is in camp, he's looking good, he's motivated and he wants to get back on track. He is looking forward to taking on any of the champions."

Ponce De Leon claimed a featherweight title in September 2012 by eighth-round technical decision from Jhonny Gonzalez, but lost it to Mares in his first defense.
