A few notes from around the boxing world:

• Middleweight Nick Blackwell (19-3-1, 8 KOs) will defend his British title against world title contender Chris Eubank Jr. (21-1, 16 KOs) on March 26 at the SSE Wembley Arena in London, promoter Mick Hennessy announced on Wednesday. Eubank, a former interim world titlist, won a world title eliminator by seventh-round knockout of Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan in December to put him in position for a fight with secondary world titlist Daniel Jacobs, but Eubank opted for the fight with Blackwell, which will air live on free television in Great Britain on Ch. 5. Also on the card: heavyweight Hughie Fury (18-0, 10 KOs), cousin of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, in a 12-rounder against an opponent to be determined.

• Former flyweight and junior bantamweight titlist Omar Narvaez, 40, of Argentina, will look for his second win in a row since losing his 115-pound world title by second-round knockout to Japanese prodigy Naoya Inoue in December 2014. Narvaez (44-2-2, 23 KOs) will face Jesus Vargas (14-3-1, 10 KOs), 23, of Venezuela, who has won four fights in a row, on Feb. 19 in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Narvaez, a southpaw, rebounded from the knockout loss for a lopsided 10-round decision against Diego Liriano in October.

• Former junior bantamweight titlist Zolani Tete (22-3, 18 KOs), 27, of South Africa, has an opponent for his March 12 fight at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. Tete, in his first fight since signing with promoter Frank Warren, will face Jose Santos Gonzalez (22-3, 12 KOs), 25, of Mexico, on the undercard of lightweight titlist Terry Flanagan's defense against Derry Mathews. "Jose is a strong fighter but he is standing in the way of bigger opportunities for me," Tete said. "He's going to fall just like the others. I'm not preparing for a knockout but if the opportunity comes I'll grab it with both hands. We all know those Mexicans are tough but I've already knocked one out so I believe this one can go too. If it goes the full 12 rounds I'm sure I will be victorious but he will be lucky if it passes the eighth round."
