Exactly what kind of cheese was in those mozzarella sticks? (1:50)

Von Miller's mozzarella stick story has everyone laughing, but Mike Golic can't get enough of DeMarcus Ware's confusing question. (1:50)

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- After six months of NFL football, from the start of training camp to the doorstep of the playoffs, hundreds of snaps, piles of blocks and more than a few 300-pound tacklers trying to shove him to the ground the Denver Broncos had one of their Pro Bowl pass-rushers almost derailed by …

Cheese sticks.

Yes, cheese sticks. An off-day trip to the movies for Von Miller resulted in an illness Miller believes was caused by a trip to the concession stand. Miller was sent home from the Broncos’ facility Wednesday because of the illness, but was back Thursday and practiced fully with the team.

"I’m feeling pretty good, I’m feeling really good," Miller said after practice Thursday. "Mozzarella sticks -- you can’t put just regular gas in a Ferrari. I learned that [Wednesday]. I’m back to normal now. I’m ready to go."

Asked if he believed it was the food that made him ill, Miller said: "Yeah, just the fried cheese and the ICEE at the movies. I was contemplating -- it did me bad. I learned my lesson."

Asked what movie he saw, Miller said, "I tried to go see 'Star Wars,' tried to sneak in there and go see it and it snuck up on me … yeah, it struck back. The Force struck back."

Miller leads the league’s No. 1 defense in sacks with 11. The Broncos also finished the regular season as the NFL’s sack leader with 52. The Broncos face the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday in an AFC divisional-round game in Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

"I told him I don’t know what kind of cheese was in those mozzarella sticks, please don’t eat those again," Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware said. "I thought [defensive end] Malik [Jackson] ate some too because he was a little bit sick [Wednesday] also. I hope those guys, I believe they flushed the mozzarella sticks out. I told them to just stick with the popcorn and the little goobers at the movies, OK?"
