Calvin Johnson's first social media message in retirement -- pizza

Former Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson has been officially retired for less than a week but on social media he had been silent for long before that.

He had not retweeted anything in 69 days. He had not posted a tweet of his own in 140 days, a congratulations of a Georgia Tech football win. He had not posted anything on Instagram in 25 weeks, when he put up a yearbook photo of himself from Georgia Tech.

That changed Sunday, when he showed at least one way he celebrated retirement: Pizza. Yes, pizza.

Thanks to my delivery guy and @pizzahut for the retirement pizza👌🏾

Johnson retired Tuesday after nine years with the Lions. The NFL's single-season receiving yards record holder with 1,964 set in 2012 had 731 career receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns. He holds almost every significant Lions receiving record.

And he's moving on to the next phase of his life apparently with some pizza in his return to social media.
