Todd McShay's first mock draft of the season is out -- this means the regular season is quickly drawing to a close -- and the Lions, as of now, would have the 15th selection in the 2014 draft.
For McShay's full reasoning, which is Insider, click on that link above.
It's interesting that McShay would go receiver there, mostly because Detroit has some definite needs at cornerback with Rashean Mathis being a free agent after the season and Chris Houston's struggles this year.
On offense, though, receiver would be the call. Having a deep threat opposite Calvin Johnson could force teams to pull away from certain coverage schemes on the best receiver in the game. It would also force teams to have three main guys to account for if you include Reggie Bush, who is dynamic in the underneath routes as a running back.
There's a long way to draft day and Detroit would hope to be in a worse drafting position than it is now, because that would mean a playoff berth. But that's where McShay is looking -- and if Detroit went with a receiver, Lee would be an enticing option.
