Morning Roar: One-stop Jim Schwartz shop
By Michael Rothstein
Good morning and ROOOOAAARRR!!!!
Everyone these days has an opinion on Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz and whether he should be holding on to that title a month from now. It dominated the local sports-talk radio stations from a couple hours after the game ended Monday night into Tuesday, and will likely continue to be a conversation piece throughout the week.
And it makes sense, what with how the Lions have let a major opportunity to wrap up a division title fall by the wayside and with how quarterback Matthew Stafford, the face of the franchise, has performed over the past six weeks.
As the fans and radio blew up about Schwartz and his job status, so has everyone else. Here is what Schwartz had to say. He's trying to continually improve as his future is in question.
Meanwhile, Monday night showed Kyle Meinke of MLive what is wrong with the Schwartz regime, told John Niyo of the Detroit News that the Lions sealed their own fate and signaled to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that even if the Lions make the playoffs, that should not be the deciding factor of the fate of Schwartz.
So it should be a pressure-packed week in Allen Park, Mich.
And now a look around the Interwebs in search of non-Jim Schwartz Lions news:
