Report: Reggie Bush 'optimistic' to play
By Michael Rothstein
Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush told the radio station WXYT-FM in Detroit on Thursday that he is "optimistic to play Sunday," according to the Detroit Free Press.
He hasn't been at practice for the past two days.
But on his weekly radio appearance, Bush told the station he is feeling better than he anticipated at this point in the week.
"I feel a lot better than I thought I was going to be feeling at this point in time," Bush told the station. "My knee feels pretty good. It's a day-to-day thing right now.
"Thankfully, I avoided anything serious that might have required surgery for being out for a long period of time."
Bush said Sunday he wasn't too concerned about his knee and he was walking around the locker room without a noticeable limp following the game.
"Like I said, I'm optimistic to play Sunday," Bush told the station. "But there's so many different things that need to happen. I've got to get approval from the doctors and coaches and trainers, so I still have some work cut out for me."
If he can't play, expect Joique Bell and Theo Riddick to see time in his place.
