Gabe Wright to wear Ndamukong Suh's old number for the Detroit Lions

Ndamukong Suh left the Detroit Lions less than two months ago in free agency.

The Lions, at least symbolically, are trying as hard as possible to move on. Late Monday night, the team announced rookie defensive tackle Gabe Wright, who wore No. 90 at Auburn, would continue to wear the number during his rookie season with the Lions.

It is something Wright said Saturday he had no issue with and he has some experience following a massive presence. He slid into Nick Fairley's starting role at Auburn after Fairley left school and was drafted by the Lions.

He was one of four draft picks who had their numbers announced Monday, joining cornerback Quandre Diggs (No. 36); offensive tackle Corey Robinson (No. 70) and fullback Michael Burton (No. 46). Previously, the Lions announced running back Ameer Abdullah will wear No. 21, most recently worn by Reggie Bush, who was released earlier this year.

The team also announced defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, as expected, was able to get his number from Baltimore, No. 92. The number had been worn by Devin Taylor, who is moving to No. 98. That number was vacated when Fairley left in free agency for St. Louis.
